Poppy Festival 2010

The Annual California Poppy Festival was this weekend, and once again, Jennie's dance school was performing. With the weather so nice, we decided to make an afternoon of it.

We went to TASTE OF LANCASTER to sample some of the local restaurants fare, and in the process won a gift basket with cool cupcake making supplies.

We walked a round a bit before Jennie's performance, and met up with Greg, Jamie, Jeremy, Pastor Jim and his wife Nancy. They were all there for Jennie's dance, happy to be waiting in the hot spring sunshine for Jennie to make it to the stage.

Jennie was the big risk taker of the day, as she:

Touched a Boa Constrictor
Had a scorpion walk on her arm
RODE A CAMEL!

Jacob was happy to let her have the spot light, although he did check out a chameleon.

Poppy Reserve

The video came out a bit blurry(video compression) - check out the pictures below.

Our friends Gooch and Chuck said the poppies were really in bloom this year, so we jumped in the car after church and drove out to the California Poppy Reserve.

They were not kidding!!!!

It has been at least 7 years since we have seen this many flowers. Jacob and I decided that it looked like a 'cheeto bomb' had exploded all over the valley.
