Jacob White...Construction???

I was surfing around last week , and I stumbled across this website for Jacob White Construction. So I contacted the owner, and he was nice enough to send Jacob an assortment of swag with 'his' name on it! Cool, eh?
Rockin' the hat, tee-shirt, bag over the shoulder and holding a custom JACOB WHITE signature golf ball.

You can dress him up...

A taste of THE HUNT!

Spring Break - San Diego Trip

On Saturday March 15th, we packed up the car and headed south for a couple of fun filled days in San Diego. On our way down, we stopped at the Scholastic Book warehouse in Anaheim, to pick up some books at a great price. What we saved in money, we paid in time!

When we got to the warehouse, the crowds weren't too bad, and when we asked how long the lines were taking, we were told 'About and hour'. Ha! I got in line while Ann and the kids roamed the aisles picking up some books for Ann's class, as well as for Jacob and Jennie.

3 HOURS LATER!!! We walked to the car with our box of 'bargain ' books. In all fairness, the kids were great, never complained and actually read about 4 books each while waiting in line (we put those books back on the shelf!). After a bit more driving, we made it to our hotel in San Diego.

Once we were settled in, the kids crashed out, and Ann and I were able to watch a little pay per view! (hubba hubba) - just kidding! We watched Juno. Very fun , very quirky- kinda like Napoleon Dynamite, only with an actual plot!

We were awoken by a massive rain shower Sunday morning( around 5 am) but by the time we got up, the sun was out and the weather stayed great the rest of the trip.

We spent Sunday at the San Diego Zoo. Wow, what a great place! We got into the zoo early and beat the crowds to the Giant Panda Exhibit.
What a life! Eat bamboo and sleep!

This baby just wanted to be loved!

On Monday, we went to Sea World, home a Shamu, dolphins and generally getting wet! We saw the Shamu 'BELIEVE" show (yep, I've lost my man card - I cried at the sappy video opening of the show) checked out the penguin exhibit, and even fed dolphins!
The look on Jennie's face says it all!

The dolphin show was awesome!

Jennie was into touching the dolphins. Jacob...

...and Ann - not so much

Jacob was totally digging the Megalodon jaws

After a long day at Sea World , we went to dinner in Seaport Village and walked around the shops a bit.
Thank goodness they got their looks from Ann!

On our last day, we drove out to The Wild Animal Park. We went on a short tram safari, then spent a couple of hours just walking around, looking at all the amazing animals.

Ahh, the life of a lion cub!

This little guy was only 3 weeks old!

Momma and baby out for a walk.

Looks - Ann...Sense of humor - Totally David!

So, to recap...3 days, three parks. We had a blast!

Jennie White - Kiwanis West Citizen Of The Month

On Tuesday, March 4th, Jennie was given the Kiwanis West Citizen Of The Month award for Ocotillo Elementary School. Ann and I went to the district office to see Jennie get her award. Dr. Lebetsamer presented Jennie with her award, after reading the following letter from Jennie's teacher, Mrs. Hurst (Aunt T):

It is my pleasure to honor Jennie White as the First Grade Kiwanis student of the month for February. She continually exhibits all four character traits of the Palmdale School District.
She is a respectful and responsible child who works above and beyond first grade expectations. She is a highly motivated learner and always wants to do her best.
She is a trustworthy and fair leader in and out of the classroom as well as a good role model to her peers. She has an enthusiasm for learning that is contagious.
She is friendly and well liked by her classmates and is always willing to be a friend to those around her. She is kind and compassionate beyond her years.
Jennie is always smiling and brightens our classroom with her positive attitude. She is a delightful child and I am honored to be her first grade teacher.

Mom, Dad and big brother Jacob are very proud of Jennie!
